Iota Sigma Pi

National organization. The Iota Sigma Pi is a national honorary society for women in chemistry. The first chapter in the country was started in 1902, and the Iota Sigma Pi was organized on a nation-wide basis in 1916. Each chapter is named after a chemical element such as nitrogen or palladium. The goals of the group are to promote interest in chemistry and to foster the advancement of women in chemistry. Iota Sigma Pi sponsors conferences and meetings, and provides awards and scholarships.
